Currently, few businesses have developed and deployed biomass-to-energy technologies and systems. Very few have been in this business for ten years. Some focused on gasification and pyrolysis to convert waste into power, or combined heat and power (CHP). A few research facilities have studied, tested and refined biomass technologies and established a valuable public knowledge pool and database. Several new companies are preparing to enter the market, and will announce new systenms in the next two years.
